Bookings are made on a first-come, first-served basis. The more notice you give, the better your chance of securing your dates. During summer months, booking 4 weeks in advance is recommended. Winter moves are often easier to book on short notice. Call us at (204) 296-2223 and we'll do our best to fit you in even on short notice.
Yes, either you or a designated adult representative needs to be there at both ends. We need someone to sign paperwork, confirm the inventory, and direct our crew on where furniture goes. If you can't be there yourself, a family member or friend with authority to make decisions works fine.
Yes, you can pack your own boxes. Just know that items you pack yourself aren't covered under our packing liability if something breaks. We cover what we pack. Most customers do a mix: they handle clothes and books, and we pack the fragile items like dishes, glassware, and electronics.
We can't transport hazardous materials like propane tanks, fuel, paint, aerosols, or fireworks. Live plants and perishable food also don't travel well in long distance shipments and we don't recommend it. Everything else (furniture, appliances, boxes, specialty items) we handle.
We offer climate-controlled storage at our Winnipeg facility, and we can coordinate storage at the destination end too. If there's a gap between your pickup and delivery dates, we'll hold your belongings securely until you're ready to take delivery. Just let us know during booking so we can plan for it.
Every item gets wrapped in moving blankets and secured in the truck so nothing shifts in transit, and fragile items are boxed with packing paper and bubble wrap. Before loading, every piece is also colour- and number-tagged against an inventory and condition report so we can verify everything at delivery. Long distance shipments include $8/lb of cargo coverage in every estimate, with optional add-on coverage available.
