Chris Pereira has been in the Winnipeg moving industry since 2001. Sean Hagues followed in 2003. Nick Wight joined the trade in 2004. For two decades, they worked shoulder-to-shoulder on trucks across the city — learning the neighborhoods, the buildings, the condo boards, and the hundred small details that separate a smooth move from a stressful one.
In November 2023, they founded Legacy Moving Company together. The name was deliberate: after years of watching corners get cut elsewhere, they wanted to build something they'd be proud to put their names on — a company that treats customers the way the three of them would want their own families treated.
Today, Legacy is three co-founders and a team of around 10 movers, running three trucks and renting additional capacity as needed. We stay intentionally small so the owners are still on-site, still answering the phone, and still personally accountable for every move.
