3. Pack and load day in Winnipeg
Our crew arrives at your Winnipeg home, handles any packing you've arranged, wraps and loads your belongings. Large items get extra protection for the mountain passes.
4. Transit across Canada
Your belongings travel through Saskatchewan and Alberta and into BC. Truck transit for this route typically takes 3–5 business days. We stay in contact and give you a delivery window as we get closer.
5. Delivery and setup in Vancouver

The best time to move from Winnipeg to Vancouver is spring (March–May) or fall (September–November). Both windows offer milder weather, better mover availability, and lower rates than peak summer. Summer is the busiest stretch — if you're moving June through August, book 8–12 weeks ahead.
Season-by-season breakdown:
- Spring (March–May): Mild on both ends. Demand picks up in April and May. Book 4–6 weeks out for spring moves.
- Summer (June–August): Peak season. Moving companies fill up fast and rates reflect demand. Book as early as you can — 8–12 weeks is realistic for the dates you want.
- Fall (September–October): An overlooked window. Cooler temps, shorter booking lead times, and often better pricing. A good fit if your timeline is flexible.
- Winter (November–February): Not off the table, but plan for variability. Prairie winters and Rocky Mountain passes can slow transit. We've done winter cross-Canada moves — just factor in extra time.
Vancouver rental market note: Most Vancouver rentals turn over at month-end. If you're moving into a rental, your possession date likely falls on the last or first day of the month. Plan your Winnipeg move-out accordingly — we can coordinate your load date and delivery window to fit.

The truck gets your belongings to Vancouver. There are a few practical things to sort out once you're there — things that catch a lot of Manitoba transplants off guard.
Driver's licence
Exchange your Manitoba licence at any ICBC location within 90 days of establishing BC residency. You'll surrender your Manitoba licence when you get your BC one.
Vehicle registration and insurance
BC auto insurance is handled through ICBC (the province's public insurer, similar to Manitoba's MPI). Transfer your vehicle registration within 90 days. Rates in BC tend to be higher than Manitoba, so budget accordingly.
Health coverage
Register for BC's Medical Services Plan (MSP) as soon as you arrive. There's typically a waiting period of up to three months before coverage begins. Keep your Manitoba Health card active during that gap.
Cost of living
Vancouver is significantly more expensive than Winnipeg, particularly for housing. If you're renting, expect to pay more than you're used to. Factor this into your overall relocation budget before you go.
